Review of Upper Marlboro, Maryland

Live outside of Washington DC, in an area referred to as "rural tier". A mile and a half to chaos! Traffic problems galore, high property cost, school problems. Almost anything I do, I go East for, to Annapolis. Gorgeous area, but don't hit it during tourist season!

I know the person who wrote this. I also live in rural tier. It is beautiful---near Davidsonville. Houses are all custom, nestled in forest. Small community where neighbors pretty much all know each other by sight if not by name. Can walk along Patuxent River, though not its most scenic bend. Horse country historically: a few families in the neighborhood still have them or goats. Lots of house and land for the money; smallest lot size is 2 acres, most are 5-11. Problem: being discovered and developers are encroaching. Lived here over 23 years. Great place for peace, quiet, privacy and relaxation. Problem is development encroachment.
